Fundraising

It surprises many to discover that music programs are not considered basic education in the United States and because of that, school funding for band programs often does not provide enough money for essentials such as a good library of music to play let alone money for things like band uniforms and trips to contests. The primary function of the Harpeth Band of Blue Boosters is to help the students in the school band program by providing volunteers and raising money.

Fund-raising projects initiated by the Harpeth Band of Blue Bootsers may be any of the typical school fund-raising projects (selling things, washing cars, etc), or may be projects that are unique to the Band such as Cabin Fever and the Annual Best of South Cheatham Dog Show. The money raised helps the Band of Blue with numerous items such as:

• New Instruments
• Instrument repair and upkeep
• Uniforms
• Purchase of music for the bands to play
• Contest Entrance Fees
• Trips/transportation to contests, music festivals, or other special performances
• Master Staff Instruction

So, the next time you are asked for support or a donation, please consider this most worthwhile cause, it is tax deductable!
