A Note from Our Director of Bands, Dan McNally (3/25/10)

 

Winter drumline students and parents,

The schedule for world championship came out this afternoon!  We perform Thursday night at 9:00 in preliminary competition.  12 finalist are chosen to perform on Saturday morning.  A rough schedule will be as followed:

Wednesday (April 14) 3:30           Leave for Dayton Ohio
Thursday                                        Practice, perform that evening
Friday                                             If we make finals, practice/homework day
Saturday                                         Perform in finals/watch other groups
Sunday 9:00(Eastern)                     Leave for Kingston Springs

A  more detailed schedule will be sent this weekend.

**I have had a question about students staying with parents once they arrive in Dayton.  Due to board policy, every student must stay in the room assigned by teacher/sponsor.  I doubled check this with my administration and it was confirmed, no student is allowed to stay anywhere but the assigned room.  They are under my supervision for the entire educational field trip, approved by the board of education. 

 

***If there is a student who wishes to leave with a parent/guardian on Saturday after the performance, they may be allowed if a signed notice it given

Again, I will send a more detailed schedule this weekend about the Dayton trip.

We are excited about this weekend's performance and I hope to see everyone there on Saturday.

Parents and students,

Below information for the next few days, please read carefully.

The cost of the room per student is $70.00, please make checks to HHS band.
Money for trip should include:  5 meals, $15.00 for tickets for Saturday's show, any other expense your child may have including souvenirs, etc.

Cookie dough will be here tomorrow!  Please make plans to pick it up between 2-4:00, if you are not able to pick it up tomorrow, please let me know ASAP, it comes frozen and we have to store it over the weekend.

Next Tuesday April 13th we are performing at Father Ryan High School, we are carpooling to this.  I need several parents to volunteer for this.  If you are able please let me know.  We will be leaving at 5:00 (this is a change from 4:30)
